PHOTOGRAPHY - PAINTING WITH LIGHT

PRELIMINARY RESEARCH

I had a great trip to Italy and used two 4gb memory cards although with 'raw' images.

It was an organised tour using Sorrento as a base and travelling down the coast to Amalfi and Ravello.  We also visited Pompei and Herculanium with a trip to the city of Naples and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.

It was great to do this last since it brought together all the pieces we has seen at Pompei and Herculanium and gave us a real insight into how sophisticated the Romans were at that time.

Naples is a very inspiring and vibrant city, Italians call it 'THE STAGE OF ITALY'  and it really was a stage with every one of its inhabitants wanting a solo part!

The Spanish quarter, full of small back streets of tenement blocks with washing hanging from balconies and Vespas shooting about everywhere was very exuberant, if somewhat scary when you are holding a large expensive camera.  However, we managed to escape intact with lots of pics and only the purchase of a 20euro Louis Vuitton bag to show for it.
( Kevin breathed a sigh of relief when we got back on the coach)!

After looking at the shots I took and discussion with Steve I have decided to go for Street Photography since this will tie in the informal portrature and architecture I had already decided upon.

As preliminary research I  looked at a website with some pictures I found interesting.http://www.street-photographers.com/

Hi lesley,
The street theme fits as does the architectural side of the work you have done, we just need to select your best work to reflect this.
Then we will look at how best to process or alter these in post production.
